6. My need to doggedly pursue my goals and the things I love also came from losing a dear friend at a young age. There’s a time for running from death and accomplishing all you can as quickly as possible. Then there’s a time for giving up, realizing none of it matters and not wanting to start if you know it’s not guaranteed you finish. Then there’s a time for noticing maybe finishing or achieving isn’t the point, but the pursuit is what brings fulfillment and satisfaction. (I haven’t gotten to the third one yet)
